What does it mean to me to "do all things in the name of the Son"? I think it could mean alot of things. There is the obvious - we were all baptized and agreed to take upon us the name of the Son. Along with your quote of the sacrament prayer. To me that's the obvious.

One could ask, Do I say a prayer before washing dishes? Do I pray before doing homework? (maybe sometimes! lol), Before shopping, etc, etc. Perhaps not always and most times no, we don't pray before doing these things. But did we remember to pray that morning? Did we read our scriptures?

For me, on a deeper personal level, I would say, In the name of the Son means, Is my heart in the right place? Did I allow myself to be edified as I read my scriptures or did I just read them to say I read them. Do I allow myself the guidance of the spirit? Or did I just happen to shrug it off? I confess, I've had bad days when all these things have happened. I desire to improve each day and I hope Heavenly Father can see my efforts and continue to love me for them.

"In the name of the Son," not only is it an action - choosing to follow Him and live His commandments, but it is an attitude - heart, mind and spirit.

That's my take on it. What a wonderful question to ask Marnie!
